Some things we shouldn't feel guilty about this Christmas

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

This time of year in theory is that time we need for festive joy, human connection, being present, re-establishing our humble self. Experiencing nature and practicing gratitude and appreciation.

BUT…

All too often we get caught up in stressful situations such as social expectations and financial worries. This is your permission slip to disown all the guilt you have been known to hold in previous years. This list is not exhaustive, but here are 6 things that we commonly have a tendency to feel guilty about:

  1. Declining a call

  2. Telling people ‘no’

  3. Your ‘imperfections’

  4. Doing nothing/being unproductive

  5. Doing what is best for you

  6. Standing up for yourself.

For my clients, or those of you who know me well, you will know that I mean it when I say that this goes for all year round. However, these things show up LOUD this time of year. Keep checking in on yourself and honour your body's cues. What else makes you guilty this time of year and how will you practice letting that go?
